ICEHOTEL
ICEHOTEL has been around since 1989, created from an idea by the entrepreneur Yngve Bergqvist. Each year, the hotel is rebuilt out of snow and ice, greeting guests from the whole world. The ice used in architecture and art is harvested from Torne River, and the cold suites are skilfully created and sculpted by artists from all over the world. You may consider an elopement or small wedding here in ICEHOTEL. How cool would that be?!
The ice hotel is open all year. It has 150 beds in cold suites and the same amount in heated rooms. In addition to the suites, the ice building includes a church, a bar, an ice sculpting studio and a ballroom. The ballroom has an impressive chandelier made out of 1,000 handmade ice crystals.
ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL
This activity is done with blocks of ice from Torne River, and is guided by an experienced ice artist from the ice hotel northern Sweden, ICEHOTEL. We work out of the backyard at ICEBAR in Stockholm. The activity takes about 45–60 minutes. 10–40 people work in teams, and the objective is to create an art piece out of ice.
