Jacky and Maarten: A Little Affair

Here at WCWV, we love all love stories, big or small, or in this case little. In a previous article we spoke of Aruba based business The Little One, you know the adorable Volkswagen van that can go anywhere and be anything from your bar or DJ booth to your photo booth or food station. The business is owned by couple Maarten and Jacky, who just had their own little celebration. In October 2018, Maarten and Jacky said I Do in a small yet special ceremony at the Town Hall of Aruba, in front of a small group of family and friends.
 

Maarten and Jacky met at an event where they were able to bond over Maarten’s Red VW Van and Jacky’s then silver, now also red, VW Beetle. They have been together ever since, hardly ever spending a day apart, building their business and their future.  Jacky proposed to Maarten on his birthday with a box of cracker jack, a note, and a ring pop. Maarten had never tried the sweet treat before, and when he opened his box he found the note from Jacky who was standing by ready to ask Maarten to continue to be with her and never apart.

The small civil ceremony was videoed by Aruba based company Brindis, which was able to capture all the small and spontaneous moments of the ceremony, as well as the thoughts and stories the sweet couple had to share.
