The stunning honeymoon suite spans the entire third floor of the retreat, includes a king bed and clawfoot bathtub, and features an ocean-facing balcony. The wedding party and couple get the royal treatment, with robes, fresh fruit, and champagne in their rooms and options for facials and full-body spa treatments.
The retreat was designed to be 100% sustainable and to honor the ancient Hawaiian lands around it. It was actually the first sustainable spa treatment venue among the Hawaiian islands. The retreat’s electricity is provided by wind and sun energy, and it supplies its own solar-heated water.
Couples can also participate in various ancient Hawaiian traditions, including an Awa drinking ceremony that unites the couples’ families. In the ceremony, a drink made with pounded awa root and fresh coconut water is passed around, the participants express their gratitude and appreciation for one another and the earth, and each family offers traditional gifts, or ha’awina, to the other.
