Greenville Art District Wedding at Artisan Traders: Gabby + Marc
Right in the heart of Greenville, South Carolina’s Art District is Old World venue, Artisan Traders. This charming venue with exposed brick walls, lots of windows, and a beautiful open floorplan, attracted sweet engaged couple, Gabby and Marc, who immediately fell in love with the venue upon their first visit. The building has a rich history that Gabby and Marc were intrigued by; both interested in history, it would be the perfect venue for them!
The Couple
Marc and Gabby met at a gathering in downtown Greenville at Carolina Ale House with mutual friends. Gabby’s neighbor invited her to the gathering. Little did she know, she would be meeting the man she would marry! It was love at first sight. Marc made the decision to propose to Gabby as a Christmas surprise; he told her to pack her bags, as they were going to go on a “road trip.” He had been devising a plan with Gabby’s family in Peachtree, Georgia, so that her family could be a part of the big surprise. As the couple arrived at Gabby’s niece’s home, Gabby was still clueless about what was to conspire.
The Proposal
Bride Gabby tells us what happened next: “As we were all catching up with each other, Marc pulled me to the front of the room, and I still had no idea what in the world was going on. He had both of my hands in his, and he proceeded to tell me how much he loved me. Honestly, I cannot remember what else he was saying as he was getting down on one knee. He proposed to me that Christmas of 2015…best Christmas gift EVER! And, the rest is history.” We love it!
Inspiration + Venue
Gabby and Marc both loved the Artisan Traders building with the beautiful artwork and the exposed brick. The couple made a phone call to Terri, who is the owner of the venue, and she met with them and told them the history of the building. Gabby says of Artisan Traders’ owner, “Terri was so helpful and gave us names of vendors and caterers. She was always checking in with us during the planning process to see if we needed anything. I always recommend Artisan Traders as a place to have a wedding or get together.” The venue absolutely exudes warmth and comfort with a historical feel. Gabby and Marc chose Artisan Traders because their theme was rustic and the interior and exterior of the building was just what they were looking for! This perfect match had them saying YES to the venue!
Most Memorable Moments
Marc says the most memorable moment of their wedding day was “seeing Gabby walking towards me coming down the aisle and then us dancing back up the aisle after the ceremony. And my favorite part of the wedding was marrying my best friend surrounded by the people I love the most. It was such a beautiful and fun ceremony.”
