A Rustic Elegant Wedding at Carlee Farm | Valaree + John
Our featured Carlee Farm wedding was a true blend of rustic elegance. Picture hay bails, a beautiful arbor with white draping flowers and greenery, lace, mason jars, galvanized metal, China and gorgeous vintage decor. Lighted lanterns surrounded by pearls, the couple’s own deer antler painted with gold tips and a 10-foot ladder that held pictures of loved ones no longer around, are just a few of the personalized elements incorporated into Valaree and John’s wedding day. We absolutely loved Valaree and John’s sentimental wedding day and every little planned detail that was put into it.
This sweet couple, who married at Carlee Farm, originally met while out turkey hunting. Imagine that! A hobby requiring such attention and patience, just waiting for the right moment, but these two found each other! The couple’s engagement story was pretty cute too, we must say. As told to Carlee Farm owner, Gena, John was actually saving money to buy himself a tractor, but instead, he bought Valaree’s engagement ring. John, jokingly, often grabs her finger and makes a “brrr” tractor noise.” We guess that is his way of saying, I love you more than a tractor!
Carlee Farm was the perfect spot for their big day! The venue is nestled on a 53-acre working farm located in Granville County, North Carolina. Valaree and John chose a lush green field with a rustic wooden arbor for their ceremony. They had a gorgeous array of white flowers and greenery draping from the arbor they stood under for their “I Do’s,” and in mason jars lining the aisle. Valaree made her dramatic entrance through freestanding gorgeous wooden barn doors, following her wedding party who were wearing flowy lace dresses. It was the sweetest ceremony.
The reception was held at the rustic barn which allowed plenty of room for guests as well as a dance floor – and they certainly danced the night away! What a fun crowd! This amazing wedding was filled with love, laughter, and even happy tears! The happy couple and their wedding day was nothing short of amazing.
