My passion has always been in makeup and fashion. I started out in the modeling industry 19 years ago, but quickly realized I had a love for the makeup rather than wearing the clothes and being in front of the camera. I began asking questions and soon was being trained by some amazing makeup artists from around the world. Different cultures have different creativity when it comes to makeup and I feel so blessed to have been exposed to such diversity at a young age. I've always had my makeup brushes in my side pocket even as I explored many avenues of life in my 20's and early 30's. After adventures in Houston, Dallas, Orlando, and San Francisco, I settled down in Austin, TX in 2005. While living in San Francisco, I found another creative outlet that I fell in love with - organic airbrush tanning - so upon moving back to Texas I opened Airbrush Tans of Austin, in 2007. It was one of Austin's original airbrush tanning studios. Brides and wedding parties were a big part of my business. I loved creating that beautiful glow for my clients and customizing their perfect color for the big day, and all the events leading up to it. Airbrush tanning and makeup application are both an art that require lots of training and creativity. Bodies, faces and skin tones are all so different, and knowing how to enhance one's beauty is something I have spent many hours mastering and I love doing it. Simple as that! In 2008, I met Rhea McCarter, who is Austin's top makeup artist, and now a great friend. I worked with her on weddings and fashion shows and learned a tremendous amount from her including airbrush makeup, which is an amazing technique for a flawless application. I've now lived in North Carolina full-time for just over 5 years. I live in Blowing Rock and am loving the new life here in the mountains with my family.
