A Sweet Design was established in 2007 as a boutique cake and cupcake shop, located in the San Fernando Valley. A Sweet Design specializes in amazing flavor combinations and one-of a-kind designs. Every single order created is held to the highest standard using only top quality ingredients¬. Whether it’s a custom cake for the most important day of your life or a dozen cupcakes for a celebration¬¬, flavor and taste are just as important as design. Owner and lead decorators, Joeleen and Miguel Medina, are experts in their craft and create edible works of art for all occasions. In 2008, this husband and wife team gained the Small Business of the Year award by the United Chambers of Commerce. They have received notable recognition such as: appearing on TLC’s Fabulous Cakes and The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, being voted #1 for “Best Wedding Cakes in LA” by LA Hotlist in 2014 and being featured on The Knot’s Best of Weddings 7 years in a row. In 2015, A Sweet Design was inducted into The Knot’s Hall of Fame. Miguel is a self taught carpenter who specializes in 3D custom made cakes such as¬ life size guitars, replicas of cars, and much more. He is a builder—an engineer of cake, there is no limit to the possibilities. So basically, if it’s a challenge, bring it on!
