Cakelava

Cakelava has been blessed with national and international media attention in magazines, on the internet, and on TV. Rick also enjoyed an international teaching career for a number of years and his “Discover Your Inner Artist” cake decorating classes were very popular. Rick’s first cake made by cakelava was his and Sasha’s towering Hawaiian-themed wedding cake and can be seen on TLC’s TV show “A Wedding Story: Sasha and Rick”. In 2007, cakelava’s all-bamboo design called “Theresa” was awarded the best cake in Hawaii by People Magazine. Rick competed on Food Network’s TV show “Challenge: Spongebob Birthday Cakes,” which aired in 2010. Future invitations from Food Network, TLC, and other networks followed. In 2010 Rick and Saha joined the TLC Cake Crew, a hand-picked group of baking enthusiasts and cake experts. cakelava has been on “The BRIDES 100” top cake designers chosen by BRIDES magazine list, Style Me Pretty’s “Little Black Book”, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style’s “Platinum List” and The Cake Blog’s “Top Tier” of cake vendors.
