Dawn's Couture Cakes is under the owner of Pastry Chef, Dawn Kappelman. Kappelman got her start at Green Fountain Inn in Waupaca, Wisconsin where she learned everything from washing dishes, serving tables and making specialty cakes to becoming sous chef. Her love for cooking, baking and the hospitality industry flourished. Dawn wento to formalize her talents in baking by receiving two Associate degrees from Fox Valley Technical College , Appleton Wisconsin in Hotel Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts and a Baking Certificate. After graduation she started out as Executive Pastry Chef with Oneida Golf and Country Club in Green Bay, Wisconsin and later at The Wellington Steakhouse before moving to Iowa with her husband.
For Dawn, owning Dawn's Couture Cakes means having the dream job and her company philosiphy is, "You dream it, i can create it!" and loves taking abstract ideas and inspirations that have for desserts and turning them into reality. "I love weddings", says Dawn. "What more can you ask for than getting to be a part of someone's day that they will remember forever?"
