"John Henry Whitmire, Owner of Whitmire Fine Jewelry, started designing and crafting jewelry in Myrtle Beach in 1972, moved to North Myrtle Beach in 1973, Murrells Inlet for the summer of 1974 and to Pawleys Island in December of that year. The store has ended up in the Hammock Shops in 1977 where we have been ever since. We sell 14K, 18K, Platinum fine jewelry with diamonds and an array of gemstones. We specialize in sea life jewelry, sea shells, fish, birds and other reminders of the sea. Most notable is the Pawleys Island shell and the Flounder, which are hand crafted by John Henry Whitmire."
