Musical Instrument Museum: Harmonizing with Every Occasion

Since opening its doors in April 2010, MIM has provided a one-of-a-kind experience by using interactive technology that allows guests of all ages to see and hear instruments being played in their original cultural context. The museum displays more than 6,800 instruments and artifacts representing about 200 countries and territories around the world. Guests can also view instruments from music icons such as John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Carlos Santana, and more in the Artist Gallery.
MIM offers a variety of indoor and outdoor settings for standing and seated receptions. Couples can choose between the Founders Room, Jill Dahlin Courtyard, El R í o, Main Courtyard, Café Allegro, Music Theater, Friends Suite, and the Manuel Villalobos patio, or combine areas to provide more space for guests. The event spaces have the capacity for anywhere between 15 and 1,000 guests. MIM can also provide couples with additional amenities, such as tables and chairs, table linens and centerpieces, musical entertainment, private museum tours, performance tickets, private gallery viewings, and catering provided by Bon Appétit.
Bon Appétit is the onsite caterer for MIM. Using locally grown, organic products whenever possible, Bon Appétit takes an all-inclusive view of wellness and believes that environment, community, and a unique menu can work together and support one another to enhance the well-being and enjoyment of guests. Chefs work with clients to create menus to fit the needs of each wedding and event and can feature cuisines from around the world. Bon Appétit’s inventive menus and foods can be experienced at MIM’s Café Allegro daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Food is made from scratch, using fresh local ingredients that are always changing.
