Venue Description

Nestled in southern Granville County, just across the Wake County line, is Brassfield Manor at Cedar Grove Acres. The manor house, originally built in 1861, frames the entrance to the historic farm land now known as Cedar Grove Acres and provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding. The beautiful scenery and rich history of the area blend together to capture a touch of the past. Each area of Cedar Grove Acres boasts its own unique character and scenery which brings a rustic feel to your special event, whether hosting a wedding ceremony in the secluded Meadow, socializing with guests at the Sugar Shack, looking out across the rolling pastures from the covered deck of the Hay Shack, or enjoying a summer beverage while swaying on the front porch swing of Brassfield Manor. Paying respect to the rich history and generations of natural beauty attached to the 30 acres of farmland on the Cedar Grove Acres site, the Kolarov’s have made a conscious effort to reuse and recycle both the materials and elements of the farm in creating the area’s premier elegant, rustic venue. One walk through the property and you can see the past of this historic site being blended into its future, as materials from old barns and shacks, farm equipment, tobacco sticks, and vintage furniture that have stood as a part of the Cedar Grove Acres legacy have been used in the creation and building of newer structures and the event venues. As you walk down the driveway past the Outhouse and the antiquated farm equipment towards the main venue, you start to breathe in the country air and smell the southern breeze. You can actually feel your blood pressure lower as you begin to appreciate and understand the way our ancestors lived.
